Hey there! I am Divya, a culturally sensitive counselling psychologist working with young and older adults. (Age 17-35) I have studied this field for over 5 years and hold a master's degree in clinical psychology.

Everyone is unique and so are their needs and concerns, hence I take what I can from different modalities, leaning more toward post-modern, humanistic, and solution-focused approaches. My areas of focus include relationship concerns, struggles with self-esteem, confidence, self-love, stress, anxiety, family conflicts, and depression.

My practice aims to create a safe and inclusive space where my clients can understand and reflect upon their thoughts, emotions, and patterns. I see therapy as a collaborative process of exploration where we work on fostering insights that lead to growth, healing, and change. I'm here to make the process of healing easier for you. My practice also adopts a trauma-informed lens.

I aim to be a guide on your quest to understand your mind.

Get To Know Me Better!

I have seen and experienced mental health concerns firsthand and I know a little support goes a long way. I intend to provide the right support for my clients. I am also a nerd when it comes to the inner workings of our brain and the whys behind our behaviour, so it felt like a good fit.

I would tell them its natural to doubt things, especially a process where one is required to be vulnerable in front of someone they don’t know. Therapy can be awkward and it can take some time to find the right fit, but it is worth a shot. You get a space for yourself to talk about things that are important to you and it’s a space that is meant to be solely about you and for you to think, talk, heal and grow. Give it a shot 🙂

First session with me is all about us getting to know each other. I encourage addressing questions, doubts and any concerns my clients might have. We discuss primary concerns, expectations from therapy and pen down some goals for our time togeather. I like to have a rough understanding of what my clients want and need from our sessions so that I can formulate a plan accordingly.

It will feel warm and validating. You will know I am there with you, listening and trying my absolute best to understand your story and how you want to take it forward. I will be a fellow traveller in your journey hoping to nudge you in the direction that is right for you.

I get to see people who are resilient, self aware and full of love, courage and empathy. I also get to assist them in their healing and growth. The theraputic alliances excite me the most.

I think I am good with admitting my mistakes and changing course of action when required. I make sure my clients know that they can tell me when things I suggest don’t work for them, and that we will always find another way. I am good at providing feedback in a soft way which leads to change and growth.

“We have been talking about this for so long and I finally out it in action. It was worth it, thankyou so much for all the encouragement, I feel so much better now”

You don’t have to wait until you get sick to start therapy. Therapy helps a great deal in self-exploration and self-awareness which is a life-long journey. It is a tool to help people in distress but it is also beneficial for anyone and everyone who wants to grow, become a better partner, friend or just understand their emotions, actions and thoughts better. And, therapy is not just advice giving.

I follow a humanistic, client centered approach with aspects of ACT, which means that I truely believe that clients know what is best for them, so I help them discover what that is and I use aspects of acceptance and commitment therapy where we work on acceptance of things we cannot change and taking responsibility for our part in things. I use different modalaties and techniques but my aproach is rooted in a simple belief that you know whats best for you.

What My Clients Say About Me!

After I finally convinced myself to take therapy, the next job was to find a good therapist. And I am so glad I got Divya as one. The way she makes it so easy for me to talk to her about my issues and how she listens to everything so patiently have really made the whole process easier. She creates a non judgmental, safe environment and approaches each step with kindness which really helps as one is sometimes in a vulnerable position. She makes me feel really comfortable in our sessions and is very understanding about my schedule. She has really made my healing journey a smooth one.

I am a 23 year old Art history student and have been struggling from mental health issues such as social anxiety and low self-esteem. However, after working with Divya on several of the issues I am facing, I am taking slow steps in my healing journey. It has already made me a calmer and more positive person.
