People who know me well know that I have an obsession with animals. Ofcourse they are cute, but they also teach you a lot of skills that therapists need to learn. Dare I say my pet made me a better therapist? Unconditional support, non-verbal comfort, no judgement no matter what you say. All this with the most authentic connection you can ever have, which I wish for every person to experience in some capacity. It is what I aim to bring as a therapist to the therapy space for my client.

My main aim for clients is to extend their learnings from this space into bringing about meaningful changes in their lives, however big or small.

When I am not a therapist, I am a pet mom and constantly on the lookout for my next travel destination!

Adopting a trauma-informed and queer affirmative lens, I work with clients to address concerns relating to anxiety, mood disorders, grief, self-management, conflict management, interpersonal relationships and more.

While I have specialised in therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), I use an eclectic approach in sessions with clients to tailor sessions drawing from other schools of thought such as DBT, Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) based on Individual needs and goals.

Get To Know Me Better!

I learned very early on about the importance of mental wellbeing in our overall health. We know it is alot easier to tend to our physical health than mental health for many reasons. However, with the right support, it becomes alot more easier to show up for yourself in every way. Not everyone has the priviliege of that unconditional support and so, that became my baseline motivation to pursue the path of becoming a therapist. To be there for people with more empathy and an unbiased perspective.

Therapy is first and foremost a safe place. Problem or no problem, everyone could use a safe space every now and then to talk about life, problem of the week, or achievement of the year. Literally anything!

Comfort with the space is top priority! The first session would entail you getting an idea of therapy and me getting to know you.

Therapy will feel like getting to know yourself from a fresh and unbiased perspective. Therapy in all its complexity can be simplified to 2 steps – first, awareness, and then, change. You can expect a lot of awareness to emerge, whether it is about yourself or the world around you, which will help drive the changes needed for overall improved wellbeing and sense of self.

Seeing a shift, however small, in a person’s perspective about mental health.

More than finding a unique trait as a therapist, I aim to create a unique and individual experience in the therapeutic space for my clients.

A client who was very hesitant towards taking therapy telling me that they now look forward to and even feel excited about our sessions.

“It is about safety & not the severity of your concern”.
You do not need to have a major problem to come to therapy; no problem is too small for therapy to be effective.

A mix of cognitive and humanistic approach which would include a client-centred focus entailing understanding thought, emotional and behavioural patterns of the client. We use this information to collaboratively establish goals that will positively impact the client’s life through self-awareness and personal growth.
