I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Psychology and work primarily with adults.

I aim to co-create a safe and collaborative space in therapy. My approach is rooted in insights, exploration and strengths. I also integrate a trauma informed lens and blend techniques based on the unique narrative you bring into the session. My curiosity and openness to learn is something that helps me stay grounded and hold onto my work.

When I'm not busy being a psychologist, I love going for walks, baking, reading, watching some new series, and enjoying an occasional puzzle or meme. I absolutely adore dogs, and my favourite colour is purple (and just pastels in general).

Get To Know Me Better!

Psychology and psychotherapy has been something I’m passionate about ever since I was first introduced to the subject. I truly believe that we all, as humans, have the innate capacity to grow and learn when the environment is conducive to it, and therapy provides that very safe space.

Yes, this job can take emotional work, but it’s the beauty of holding space and being with a client’s narrative, and watching them slowly navigate their paths, which reminds me why I do what I do!

It’s okay to seek support for your mental wellbeing, just as you would for your physical health. You don’t have to reach a specific benchmark to “deserve” going to therapy. If you feel ready, go for it!

The first session would be very basic, it’s just an introductory session for me to understand you, talk about the therapy process, and for us to set goals for our upcoming journey.

I work based on the client’s needs and what comes up for them using an eclectic, humanistic-based lens. Therapy would look like exploring their narratives and holding space for them as they navigate their life choices. I prefer to facilitate and focus on strengths and insights rather than a directive or quick-fix approach. I also incorporate EFT (emotional freedom technique) to work with trauma.

Witnessing and sitting with my clients through their ebb and flow.

While adhering to ethical responsibilities, (safety, confidentiality, etc.) I try my best to show up authentically. I prefer to focus on the human-ness that we bring into the space rather than how therapy sessions “SHOULD” be. Not all sessions can fit a specific template, and not all sessions can feel like a breakthrough!

Anything related to their gratitude, something they finally implemented, how me holding space for them made them feel supported, and how they feel hopeful after our sessions.

Therapy can feel messy, and is not magic/instant solutions. It needs showing up, consistency, and the work needs to happen from both sides. You won’t receive specific advice on what decisions you need to make as that will always be yours to choose. As a therapist, I can help you identify options or support you through your path, but not tell you what to choose. It’s okay to nourish your mental health, there is strength in vulnerability.

Collaborative, humanistic, trauma-informed.

What My Clients Say About Me!

I took therapy sessions with Malavika for about 4 months and I can confidently say that I know myself better. I have become more self aware emotionally. Unlike before, now I can sit with my emotions and thoughts to help them process better. She has patiently helped me work on my mental and emotional health for which I am really grateful to her. She has helped me with several coping mechanisms for my anxiety that come in handy in my day-to-day life. I am really happy with the way I have progressed! Highly recommend her!

I took regular therapy sessions from Malavika for 18 months. And I am more aware about myself today. Therapy is a collaborative work. My job was to complete the homework & trust her in the whole process. And I can honestly say that my experience was rewarding. It gave me better perspectives about myself. In the process, she also equipped me with problem solving skills & to ask myself the right set of questions whenever I'm stuck with something. This is helping me a lot in my decision making. Few things like knowing my needs & communicating them is helping me in my relationships. I can say that I am a changed person today. To cut short everything, my journey was a mix of everything where I experienced all emotions and she was supportive in the whole process. A big thanks to her for being so much patient in my journey. I highly recommend her. Thanks.
